Risgard - Dont Ban Rooney
Aalborg midfielder Kasper Risgard has urged UEFA not to punish Wayne Rooney despite being the victim of the Manchester United striker's stray boot during their Champions League draw.
UEFA is set to reveal whether the England striker will face disciplinary action after allegedly stamping on Risgard during last Wednesday's 2-2 Group E draw at Old Trafford.
But the Aalborg midfielder doesn't believe the first-half altercation - for which Rooney issued an apology - should result in a ban for the United hitman.
French referee Laurent Duhamel did not see the incident but UEFA revealed on Thursday that they were studying video footage before deciding whether to take action.
"I heard UEFA is looking at this but I don't think Rooney should be suspended," he said.
"I haven't seen the situation on TV yet as we had our Christmas party the day after the match, but I can understand it looks bad. It's what happens in intensive matches.
"Wayne came up to me immediately and apologised. I appreciated that. I have nothing against him."

Re: Risgard - Dont Ban Rooney
That is a really good thing what he did, but, I dont think UEFA will be as nice about it, if the TV footage looks bad, i think UEFA will ban him, which will be a shame for Rooney and Man UTD.
