Wycombe extend lead, Bury slump Empty Wycombe extend lead, Bury slump

The Shrews started the match in third and with the Chairboys having taken just one point from the last two games - including their first league defeat of the season - it appeared a good time to face them.

However, it was the visitors who came away with the three points, Matt Harrold's 55th-minute header from Matt Phillips' corner the solitary goal.

Bury failed to cut into Wycombe's lead when they went down to a shock 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth.

The hosts are second from bottom of the Football League and face an uphill battle if they are to retain their league status but it was the Shakers who came unstuck.

Sammy Igoe opened the scoring when he drilled a shot home from 12 yards before victory was confirmed when Joe Partington netted with a low shot.

Brentford moved into third after an eventful 1-1 draw at Gillingham saw both sides end the match with 10 men.

The Bees went ahead through Charlie MacDonald's close-range shot before the hosts levelled through Simeon Jackson's header.

Bees striker Nathan Elder was then dismissed for violent conduct with Gills' full-back Barry Fuller then getting his marching orders for a second yellow card two minutes from time for serious foul play.

Bradford moved up a place into fourth despite only managing a 0-0 draw with Chester, while Darlington dropped to seventh after twice squandering the lead in a 2-2 draw with Barnet.

Liam Hatch put the hosts ahead in the eighth minute before John O'Flynn levelled, Hatch got his second with a header but Ismail Yakubu equalised.

Exeter moved up to fifth after Steve Basham and Craig McAllister both claimed doubles in their 4-1 defeat of Rochdale.

The match also saw Scott Wiseman dismissed for serious foul play.

Basham scored his double - including a penalty - in the first half with McAllister on target in the last six minutes as Clark Keltie got a consolation spot-kick at the death.

Scott Davies scored two penalties as Aldershot came back from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw against Grimsby.

JP Kalala put the Mariners ahead after two minutes from 25 yards before Nick Hegarty doubled the lead. Davies though got his brace.

Dagenham and Redbridge had a 4-0 win at Macclesfield, the goals coming from a Paul Benson double, Solomon Taiwo from 25 yards and Sam Saunders.

Adrian Patulea scored the only goal to make sure Lincoln were successful at Notts County, while Aaron Downes netted the winner as Chesterfield won at Port Vale, who had Marc Richards dismissed for violent conduct.

Mark Burchill scored twice as Rotherham won 3-1 at Accrington.

Burchill struck twice in the first 11 minutes - one a spot-kick - before Andrew Procter hit back with a crisp volley. The Millers then got the winner with three minutes to go from Drewe Broughton.

Basement side Luton drew 1-1 with Morecambe - Michael Spillane putting the hosts ahead before Danny Carlton pulled the visitors level.

Well, the bottom teams Luton and Boureomouth are doing better than i thought, this how it stands
22 Rotherham 20 13
23 Bournemth 21 7
24 Luton Town 21 -5
I really want the two teams that started at the bottom, with deducted points servive, it would prove everyone wrong, but LUton, it may be a bit too much of a challenge for them

I think Bournemth will have a chance, but Luton it will be extremely difficult for them
